Link-A-Link | The 3D Printable Modular Arm Mounting System

About this project

Desktop boom arms are an underrated pain point: fixed form factors, different clamps for mics, cameras, tablets and Raspberry Pis, and reach angles limited by factory design — extending them means buying another arm. Link-A-Link from an Orlando maker turns this into a 3D-printable modular system. Payload mounts, arm links and base mounts snap together freely, so any length and any angle is reachable; integrated channels hide cables inside the arm, and a dedicated assembly tool is included. Because every structural part can be printed locally, users can reprint, modify and extend at will — for the first time, a desk-mount ecosystem that actually grows. Launched in April 2026, it drew 2,469 backers and $156,600, an eye-catching 15,660% funded.

Highlights

  • Print your own boom-arm ecosystem: links, mounts and bases are modular and endlessly extendable
  • Form freedom: reach angles and layouts traditional boom arms can't by assembling links
  • Cables never dangle: integrated channels keep the desk clean
  • Native 3D-print design: reprint or modify parts at home whenever needed
