TRU: The Ankle-Based Step Tracker

Wristbands stop counting when your wrists are still — pushing a cart, typing, carrying a child — and classic pedometers are too clunky to wear with real outfits. TRU is a 10mm pill worn on the ankle, where every step actually happens. Its locket-style modular design swaps bands from skin-safe silicone to nylon, milanese and metal in 28+ combinations across gold, silver and rose-gold finishes. It is waterproof, runs a month per two-hour charge, and the free app turns step goals into streaks, achievements and community challenges without a forced subscription. Launched in June 2025, the project drew 1,328 backers and raised $136,570 against a $7,000 goal — about 1,951% funded.
