Avatar Robotics
Avatar Robotics
Uses teleoperated robots for warehouse sorting and packing, then trains robots toward autonomy using the data from those shifts. Robots generate training data while doing paid work for customers. Human operators in Mexico and the Philippines use VR headsets and controllers, and Avatar uses the operation logs to improve its robot models. CEO Colin Webb says this produces more useful data than hiring people specifically for data collection, with a long-term goal of an unlimited industrial workforce of millions of robots. Cumulative funding US$6.5M.
