Mecka AI
Collects training data for robotics companies by capturing human-physical-world interactions. People record daily tasks with phones and wearables, and Mecka converts the recordings into training datasets. The goal is to make physical-world data as cheap and accessible as text and images for traditional AI. Instead of teleoperation, it puts sensors on people to capture visual, motion and force data that cameras miss. It partners with top AI labs and is developing its own data-collection hardware, including sensor-embedded gloves. CEO Josh Gao says annualized revenue recently exceeded US$100M. Cumulative funding US$68M.
