Tachin Technology

Tachin Technology (Tachin Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing) was founded in January 2020, is headquartered in Beijing with subsidiaries in Shenzhen and Guangzhou plus an exploration center in Silicon Valley, and is an original-technology company dedicated to the R&D and manufacture of flexible tactile chips - flexible electronic skin - holding a high-barrier intellectual-property portfolio and credentials including National High-Tech Enterprise and Beijing Specialized-and-Sophisticated SME status. Its technical base is integrated, fully self-developed 'material-device-circuit-algorithm' design: a stretchable multimodal flexible e-skin that synchronously captures normal pressure, shear stress, temperature, surface texture, proximity and slip on one skin, shipping what is billed as the world's first product-grade stretchable e-skin. Published specifications include 0.01 N/cm2 force resolution, 0.5 mm spatial resolution, 0.5 C temperature resolution, a 1-1000 Hz sampling band, 20-100% adjustable stretchability and a service life beyond one million cycles. Three product matrices form a complete sense-data-train loop: EI-H full-coverage dexterous-hand tactility provides sensing at fingertips, finger pads and palms for industrial and service robot hands, delivering pressure distribution, slip detection and texture recognition during grasping plus real-time tactile feedback for fine manipulation; EI-B whole-body tactility covers irregular surfaces on torsos, limbs and joints for full-body collision detection, contact-force sensing and dynamic posture adjustment; and the EI-G TachinGlove data-glove acquisition system faces the human operator side, using high-density sensor arrays to capture pressure, slip, temperature and other multimodal tactile data from hand operation as the underlying data supply for embodied-AI model training. In September 2026 it released TachinGlove Snap, a quick-release version of the glove that separates the acquisition module from the glove body, raising device reuse and deployment efficiency for high-frequency trials, multi-batch collection and multi-team rotation. Applications span embodied intelligence, smart vehicles and cockpits, smart wearables and medical health, and consumer electronics and emotional companionship; its products were exhibited at CES 2026. The core team is made up of PhDs, postdocs and senior industry experts from Stanford, Tsinghua and Peking University, over 80% of whom hold a master's or doctorate, covering materials, electronics, mechanical engineering, artificial intelligence and capital management: founder and CEO Lai Jiancheng holds a bachelor's in applied chemistry from Dalian University of Technology and a chemistry PhD from Nanjing University, was a postdoc in chemical engineering at Stanford under Professor Zhenan Bao - a four-academy academician and one of the world's leading e-skin scientists - has 15 years of experience in flexible e-skin and wearable devices, and leads a National Key R&D Program disruptive-technology innovation project; co-founder and COO Dong Zhi holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Tsinghua's Department of Electronic Engineering, with 10+ years in commercial-bank capital management and private-fund operations, having led the establishment of a fund above RMB 10B and managed over RMB 40B of investment and post-investment work. On funding, on September 28, 2026 it announced a Pre-A++ round at the hundred-million-RMB level, co-led by the Beijing Artificial Intelligence Industry Investment Fund and the Beijing New Materials Industry Investment Fund - its third round since the start of 2026, after two earlier rounds from investors including Lenovo, Huakong Fund, Wuxi Communications Group, Yuanhe Puhua and Hongtai Fund. Proceeds go primarily to underlying core-technology R&D, automated production-line construction and process iteration, and to completing the supply chain around embodied-AI data-collection tools and consumer-grade terminals so technology converts into end products faster.
