SmartyPlants is a sensor that monitors your plants' every need, replacing guesswork with expert insights at your fingertips. In-app AI image analysis tracks growth over time and swiftly pinpoints problems; the sensor can automate care by driving self-watering systems and grow lights. You can even analyze a room first and get recommendations on which plants will thrive there. WiFi connectivity lets you check on plants while away, and you can share care instructions with a friend or neighbour looking after them. From London, the team brought consumer plant monitoring from geek toy to everyday tool via crowdfunding. Launched in June 2024, it drew 1,489 backers and about £141,242 (roughly $183K), around 2,825% funded.
