CyberBrick: Beyond Bricks

About this project

CyberBrick, from Bambu Lab's MakerWorld, reimagines smart building bricks: structural parts are no longer injection-molded but 3D-printed on demand at home, while the core controller and functional shields (sensor/motor electronics) get reused across every project. This distributed-manufacturing idea pays off three ways: builders print any shape they want; shipping moves dense filaments instead of fragile finished toys; and long-lived electronics cut e-waste. The primary filament is biodegradable PLA. Coding ranges from block-based beginners to real code, with AI-assisted coding encouraged — part toy, part teaching kit, part maker platform.

Highlights

  • Reusable across projects: the controller and electronics live on through many builds, cutting e-waste
  • Print your toys: a home 3D printer plus one electronics kit = endless RC vehicles and robots
  • Distributed manufacturing: ship dense filaments instead of fragile finished toys
  • A complete education loop: coding + mechanics + electronics in one system
