About this project

Security researchers usually carry a bag of separate gadgets: an SDR, an RFID reader, a universal remote, plus a laptop. Interrupt tries to fold all of it into one palm-sized device. Built on a Raspberry Pi Zero 2W running full Linux, it pairs a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with a D-pad and keyboard, so you can work through the GUI menu or drop straight into a terminal. Hardware includes a CC1101 sub-1GHz radio (300–928 MHz capture and replay), RFID detection and emulation, infrared TX/RX storing thousands of remote codes, and programmable GPIO. A 2000mAh battery and USB-C power it, with MicroSD storage up to 256GB. Firmware and software are fully open source, and the team actively invites modification. Launched in May 2025, it drew 2,845 backers and $586,836, about 5,868% funded.

Highlights

  • Pocket pentest station: sub-1GHz radio, RFID, infrared and GPIO in one device, ready in the field
  • Full Linux terminal: run Nmap, Metasploit and Aircrack-ng without a laptop
  • Fully open and moddable: no black-box limits, with a community-driven ecosystem
  • Gadget-like fun: D-pad, color screen and a GUI menu make security tooling playful
