Founder Allen Ai, a cat owner of 12 years, set out to fix this in 2018. Furoomate's open-top drum is far roomier than rivals; one button sweeps used litter into a sealed drawer; a waterless system swaps felt mats and liners instead of scrubbing; five sensors — motion, gravity, current — guarantee it never runs with a cat inside; seamless walls leave zero dead corners, and two sifting screens fit any litter. Launched in October 2023, it drew 1,583 backers and about HK$3.06M (roughly $392K), around 6,127% funded.
