LIT DUO 1: Game-Changing Light Meter for Film, Video, Photo

About this project

In the digital era, handheld light meters look obsolete — cameras meter themselves. Yet precise measurement of ambient light, flash output, color temperature and flicker remains essential in film and photo workflows, and the tools have barely evolved in decades. LIT DUO 1 from Stockholm-based Lit Systems packs six professional measuring tools into one pocket-sized body. Its dual-sensor architecture with interference-filter technology enables simultaneous measuring, and it ships with two industry firsts: light-flicker metering and wireless connectivity. It runs on 3×AAA cells that recharge in-device over USB-C when using NiMH batteries, with a companion LIT App and the company's LIT C1 ecosystem extending the workflow. Launched in July 2024, it drew 2,838 backers and about €1.62 million (roughly $1.78M), around 325% funded.

Highlights

  • Six tools in one pocket device: ambient, flash, color temperature, flicker and more
  • Dual sensors measuring simultaneously, built on interference-filter technology
  • Flicker metering: finally a way to quantify the flicker that plagues film lighting
  • Classic meter feel, modernized: intuitive hands-on operation plus app and wireless
