Nékojita FuFu: Tiny Robot Cools Your Hot Drinks & Food

People sensitive to hot food ('cat tongues,' as Japanese calls them) know the ritual: soup and coffee arrive too hot, so you blow and blow—and feeding kids means blowing until you're dizzy. Handheld fans help, but you have to hold them, and it's hardly hygienic. Tokyo toy-robot studio Yukai Engineering answers with Nékojita FuFu, a tiny cat robot that blows for you. An internal fan sends breezy streams through the cat's mouth in human-like patterns; clip it to a cup or bowl rim, or let it sit by a plate. Hot water at 89°C reaches a comfortable sipping temperature in about 3 minutes. It's rechargeable (about 60 minutes per charge), pocket-sized, and comes in 3 colors. Launched in April 2025, it drew 1,799 backers and about ¥18.4M (~$128K), around 3,209% funded.
