Bored of drones? Quadcopters buzz like appliances rather than flying like birds, while traditional RC wings and ornithopters demand too much skill for newcomers. The Swift is a 10.9g biomimetic ornithopter: lift comes from flapping wings, just like a real bird. It hits 31 km/h in speed configuration, yet sensor assistance keeps it stable indoors at a 3.5 km/h crawl. The EPP body with carbon and titanium reinforcement survives crashes and takes off from the ground on micro-wheels; control via phone app or the patented X-Play joystick, with 150m range, night-flight LEDs and QuickSwap batteries. Launched in February 2026, the project drew 1,284 backers and raised €164,738 (~$190,000) against a €25,000 goal — about 659% funded.
