About this project

Robotic mowers are nothing new, but nearly all of them spin rotary blades that tear grass instead of cutting it, leaving lawns stressed and frayed. Oasa R1 brings golf-course reel cutting into a home robot — the world's first consumer-grade robotic reel mower. Its 335 mm wide reel pairs a fixed blade with high-speed precision spiral blades for a clean scissor cut that keeps grass lush; cutting height adjusts from 20 to 101 mm for a tournament-style finish. LiDAR plus vision perception builds a precise 3D map, and hover mode defines boundaries without burying wire. When blades dull, an automatic resharpening system — a first in robotic mowers — restores the edge. With just 30 mm between blade and chassis, edging needs almost no touch-ups, and an anti-theft system stands guard. Launched in June 2024, it drew 1,790 backers and $2,329,458, around 4,659% funded.
