iMicro Q3 - A Fingertip Microscope toward the Optical Limit

High-performance microscopes have always meant bulky, expensive instruments — but Leeuwenhoek's spirit of portable observation shouldn't be confined to labs. Shanghai's QingYing E&T shrinks the microscope to a fingertip with the iMicro Q3: roughly half an inch, under 0.5 grams, clipping onto any smartphone camera. The Q3 delivers super 700 nm resolution at 1200x magnification — pushing toward the optical diffraction limit — revealing cells, fibers and micro-solder joints directly on your phone screen. With no dedicated host or pricey accessories required, any smartphone becomes the display and camera, making serious microscopy genuinely affordable. The iMicro lineage has run four consecutive Kickstarter campaigns since 2018, collecting 25K pledges and shipping 50K+ units to 70 countries. The Q3 raised $353,395 against a CA$13,625 goal (about 26x) with 7,060 backers.
