Jetro: Keep Freshness Longer

Strawberries go soft in three days, lettuce wilts in a week, and your juice tastes like last night's garlic. Ordinary fridges only chill — they do nothing about ripening ethylene, bacteria or odors, so food keeps going to waste. Jetro is a soda-can-sized fridge purifier: a jet-inspired airflow path pulls fridge air through a ceramic core, where blue light drives a photocatalytic reaction that breaks down ethylene, kills bacteria and strips odors, while negative ions settle what remains. The filter is washable for life, one charge lasts about 7 days, and the can-sized body fits on any shelf or side wall. Japan-lab tests show 99% bacteria reduction and ~65% odor removal, extending produce freshness by 1–2 weeks. Launched in July 2026, the project drew 1,317 backers and raised about HK$698,000 (~$89,000) against a HK$39,000 goal — about 1,790% funded.
