ugo, inc. (ｕｇｏ ) was founded in Tokyo in February 2018 (HQ in Higashi-Kanda, Chiyoda-ku) by CEO Ken Matsui with JPY 100M in capital, providing ugo solutions and developing, delivering and operating physical AI. It started from teleoperation: the ugo Pro remote-operated robot has long served infrastructure inspection, security and guidance work, winning the 11th Robot Award excellence prize (business & social implementation), the 8th Infrastructure Maintenance Grand Prize Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Award, and the GMO AI & Robotics Awards 2025 excellence prize, plus selection as a J-Startup (5th cohort). Its product line spans ugo mini, ugo Pro, ugo Ex and ugo Platform, with solutions covering inspection, security, guidance and crime-prevention robots plus deployment and operation support. On September 16, 2026 it launched the semi-humanoid ugo Nova: 22 DoF on four mecanum wheels, with a 2-axis head, two 7-axis arms ending in 1-axis two-finger tactile grippers, a 4-axis waist and a 4-axis body, 843 mm arm reach, 350 mm lift stroke and 10 kg dual-arm payload, powered by an NVIDIA Jetson Thor and positioned as an imitation-learning kit for AI robots; the ugo Physical AI Fabric product-and-service group integrates robot, data and model to keep the foundation-model develop-operate-improve cycle spinning. Industrial design is by GK Kyoto under the concept "Next Soft Precision".
