Pixless camera

In an era where camera makers compete on megapixels, Florence-based developer Carlo went the opposite way: a camera with just 0.03 Mp. The Pixless sensor resolves under 100,000 pixels, producing chunky pixel-art photos — proof that creativity does not need tens of megapixels and that constraints themselves are an aesthetic. The hardware is built on an ESP32 S-3 with Wi-Fi image download, and the whole design is openly repairable and customizable, with colorful special editions. Launched in December 2024, the campaign drew 1,100 backers and raised €119,939 (~$125k), 800% of its €15,000 goal.
