Roadie 4 Automatic Guitar Tuner: Next-Level Precision

About this project

Tuning is the least glamorous yet most unforgiving part of playing. Under hot stage lights, pulling out a phone tuning app is slow and awkward, and clip-on tuners often fail in loud venues. Band Industries' Roadie 4 automates the whole ritual. A built-in contact microphone detects string vibration directly, bypassing ambient noise; algorithms analyze pitch while a high-torque motor turns the peg. Revamped audio circuitry keeps it reliable on noisy stages. It ships with 150+ tunings, a redesigned rubberized peg connector that grips both small and large pegs without slipping, Bluetooth 5.0 syncing, and a battery lasting months per charge. Roadie 3 already served 60,000+ musicians with 4.5 stars across 2,000+ Amazon reviews, and gen 4 was rebuilt around that community feedback. Launched in June 2025, it drew 2,317 backers and $317,579, about 3,176% funded.

Highlights

  • Fully automatic peg turning: clip on and walk away, switch tunings one-handed
  • Stage-proof noise resistance: vibration detection plus revamped circuitry works in loud venues
  • 150+ built-in tunings: standard to open tunings, swapped between songs
  • Sequel to 60,000 musicians' trust: Roadie 3's 4.5-star feedback shaped gen 4
