Screenmate: The Ultimate Extra Computer for Your Tesla

About this project

Tesla's closed infotainment ecosystem has long left owners wishing for CarPlay, streaming and everyday apps. After years of collecting driver feedback, the Teslogic team built Screenmate — a Qualcomm Android computer that hides behind the Tesla screen and turns it into an open smart terminal. A four-finger tap summons it: the native Tesla interface stays on the left while any Android app runs on the right. Stream video, take calls, or plug in a game console over HDMI/USB. A floating instrument cluster keeps speed, speed limits, blind-spot warnings and battery level in view, while added controls like battery pre-heating and one-tap autopilot speed are scriptable via Python, with the app's source code open on GitHub. The Teslogic v2 dashboard is integrated too — one device, two products' worth of function. Launched in October 2024, it drew 1,485 backers and raised $952,940, about 1,906% funded.
