Jartoo: World's First Carbon Nanotube Heated Blanket

About this project

Traditional electric blankets carry a long complaint list: slow heat-up, cold spots, fragile resistance wires that fear folding, washing anxiety, high power draw, and lingering safety worries. Jartoo swaps the heating element for aerospace-grade material. Apalos FlexHT carbon nanotube film combined with far-infrared radiation heating warms up in one minute, covers 90% of the blanket evenly with no cold spots, and feels like sunlight on skin. The whole thing runs on just 70W — 60% less energy than conventional blankets — at low safe voltage. The velvet-blend fabric is skin-friendly and tough enough for pets, fully machine washable, and if one area gets damaged, the rest keeps heating. Launched in November 2024, it drew 2,300 backers and $493,938, about 4,939% funded.

Highlights

  • Aerospace material at home: carbon nanotube film delivers sunlight-like warmth
  • One-minute heat-up: no waiting when cold or pain strikes
  • 70W all night without guilt: 60% less energy than traditional blankets
  • Machine washable and fault-tolerant: survives pets, spills and daily abuse
