Keychron Q16 HE 8K: World’s First Fully Ceramic Keyboard

Keyboard materials have been through an arms race — aluminum, plastic, acrylic, wood — but nobody had touched ceramic. It's hard to machine, fragile and costly, yet warm, cool and utterly unique. The Keychron Q16 HE 8K is the world's first fully ceramic keyboard: a modern lightweight ceramic body with a milky-smooth, cool-to-the-touch feel and a distinctive thocky sound. Performance matches the exotic shell: magnetic switches with TMR (tunneling magnetoresistance) sensors — more sensitive and power-efficient than classic hall effect — plus an 8K polling rate and fully customizable per-key behavior. It pushes custom-keyboard materials into new territory, equal parts collector's piece and serious hardware. Launched in October 2025, it drew 2,162 backers and $524,616, about 5,246% funded.
