MiMi™ - Micro Mirrorless Yashica - I'm Back

Smartphones shrank the compact camera market, yet phones can't reach distant subjects and their batteries die mid-day; proper mirrorless cameras shoot beautifully but are too heavy to carry. MiMi, a collaboration between Yashica and Italy's I'm Back team, aims to be a truly pocketable interchangeable-lens camera. This micro mirrorless keeps full-size capabilities: three or more lenses cover diverse scenes, and C-mount adapters accept 100, 200, 500, even 1000 mm optics, turning it into a telescope. A foldable display aids low-angle framing, an external mic input and HDMI output serve video creators, and USB-C connection doubles it as a high-quality webcam for streaming. It comes in multiple colors with an optional battery grip. The design carries Yashica's 75-year imaging heritage with a startup's daring spirit. Launched in March 2024, it drew 1,788 backers and about CHF 572,345 (roughly $630K), around 5,723% funded.
