The Master Forge: A Keyboard Built for You

About this project

Keyboard form factors have barely changed in decades: one character per keystroke, wrist strain for heavy typists, and a visible speed ceiling. Developers and writers deserve an interface rebuilt for the digital age. CharaChorder's Master Forge abandons traditional typing: chording outputs entire words or phrases in a single keystroke, breaking physical speed limits; every key is blindly reachable with one hand, leaving the other for a mouse, drawing tablet or space navigator; snap-action switches outperform mechanical and Hall-effect; and a dovetail rail on the aerospace-aluminum exoskeleton accepts endless Bolt-Ons. Launched in August 2024, it drew 1,391 backers and $602,157 against a $10,000 goal — about 6,022% funded.

Highlights

✓Chording outputs whole words per keystroke, beyond physical typing limits
✓One-hand blind access frees your other hand for specialized tools
✓Snap-action switches outperform mechanical and Hall-effect
✓Dovetail-rail exoskeleton for bolt-on electromechanical modules
