About this project

As smartphones grow more addictive, Polish brand Mudita wants to subtract. The Kompakt is a minimalist E Ink phone: MuditaOS K, custom-built on AOSP, is optimized for E Ink with a clean paper-like interface, and the hardware-based Offline+ Mode physically cuts connectivity, handing privacy and focus back to the user. The body is IP54 dust/splash resistant with a shock-absorbing metal frame, offered in Charcoal Black, Pebble Gray and Natural White, while the Mudita Center desktop app (Windows/macOS/Linux) handles backups and contacts. Launched in October 2024, it drew 1,078 backers and raised ~€354k (~$372k).
