Every wash of synthetic clothes sheds millions of microplastic fibers into wastewater, rivers and oceans — and eventually the food chain. It is a pollution source science has long flagged, yet few acted on, until someone put the answer on the washing machine's drain hose. PlanetCare 2.0 is a second-generation external microfiber filter: independent scientific tests show 98% fiber retention, and its screw-free adhesive mount fits nearly any washer. The real differentiator is the closed loop: full cartridges are mailed back, housings are refurbished and reused, and captured fibers are recycled in controlled settings — never released back into nature. Launched in September 2023, it drew 1,399 backers and €150,887 (about $159K), roughly 1,006% funded.
