IROS 2026 Workshop on Athletic Humanoid Robotics: Dance Demos and an Open-Problems Panel
Posted from IROS 2026 for the workshop on Perception and Decision Making for Athletic Humanoid Robotics: humanoid dances at the morning demo session, followed by a 4 PM panel on open problems in athletic humanoid robotics. The workshop brings together robotics, vision, RL, biomechanics and sports-science researchers around agile-locomotion perception, real-time decision making, humanoid robot sports, and sim-to-real. Confirmed speakers include Guanya Shi (CMU), Peter Stone (UT Austin, on Ace — a table-tennis robot using event-based vision and model-free RL that beat elite players), Mingguo Zhao (Tsinghua), Aude Billard (EPFL), Karthik Ramani (Purdue), Dieter Buechler (JKU), Chenhao Liu (Phybot, on humanoid badminton) and Vikash Kumar (MyoLab.AI). The 11:40 demo session features Unitree, Phybot and Booster.
